Narrative:
No deviation from clrnces; however; ATC reassigned our runway from runway 25L to runway 24R approximately 10 miles northeast of civet. When PNF attempted to reprogram FMC transition; intersection coxeb did not appear in database which led to confusion as to whether we had the correct routing programmed. This resulted in both of us getting behind the aircraft and having to abandon the RNAV STAR and go raw data with ATC's concurrence. Subsequent examination found that neither coxeb nor ekecu waypoints are in our database. Databases should exactly reflect the published charts to prevent such confusion.

Title: B737-500 FLT CREW ON CIVET ARR TO LAX IS CONFUSED BY AERO CHART DEPICTATION OF COXEB INTXN WHICH IS NOT DISPLAYED ON THE NAV DISPLAY WHEN THE ARR IS SELECTED. CONFUSION RESULTS IN FAILURE TO FLY THE PROC AS PUBLISHED.
Narrative: NO DEV FROM CLRNCES; HOWEVER; ATC REASSIGNED OUR RWY FROM RWY 25L TO RWY 24R APPROX 10 MILES NE OF CIVET. WHEN PNF ATTEMPTED TO REPROGRAM FMC TRANSITION; INTXN COXEB DID NOT APPEAR IN DATABASE WHICH LED TO CONFUSION AS TO WHETHER WE HAD THE CORRECT ROUTING PROGRAMMED. THIS RESULTED IN BOTH OF US GETTING BEHIND THE ACFT AND HAVING TO ABANDON THE RNAV STAR AND GO RAW DATA WITH ATC'S CONCURRENCE. SUBSEQUENT EXAMINATION FOUND THAT NEITHER COXEB NOR EKECU WAYPOINTS ARE IN OUR DATABASE. DATABASES SHOULD EXACTLY REFLECT THE PUBLISHED CHARTS TO PREVENT SUCH CONFUSION.
