Narrative:
Aircraft dispatched with MEL (yellow ECAM system low pressure). Flight crew conducted operations procedure in accordance with MEL requirements. On taxi out before takeoff; cockpit indications were somewhat confusing. Captain called dispatch and maintenance foreman for clarification in accordance with fom requirements. Concluded after conversation with dispatch and maintenance that aircraft safety was not compromised if we departed with yellow hydraulic pump on with all system normal. Directed by maintenance to write up discrepancy again upon arrival in ZZZ1. Subsequent to flight; flight crew learned that maintenance may have mislabeled the actual irregular condition affecting aircraft.

Title: AN A321 WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE YELLOW HYD SYS PRESSURE RPTED LOW. ITEM DEFERRED IN CONFLICT WITH THE MEL. MUST HAVE FULL PRESSURE FROM ENG DRIVEN PUMP.
Narrative: ACFT DISPATCHED WITH MEL (YELLOW ECAM SYS LOW PRESSURE). FLT CREW CONDUCTED OPS PROC IN ACCORDANCE WITH MEL REQUIREMENTS. ON TAXI OUT BEFORE TKOF; COCKPIT INDICATIONS WERE SOMEWHAT CONFUSING. CAPT CALLED DISPATCH AND MAINT FOREMAN FOR CLARIFICATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH FOM REQUIREMENTS. CONCLUDED AFTER CONVERSATION WITH DISPATCH AND MAINT THAT ACFT SAFETY WAS NOT COMPROMISED IF WE DEPARTED WITH YELLOW HYD PUMP ON WITH ALL SYS NORMAL. DIRECTED BY MAINT TO WRITE UP DISCREPANCY AGAIN UPON ARR IN ZZZ1. SUBSEQUENT TO FLT; FLT CREW LEARNED THAT MAINT MAY HAVE MISLABELED THE ACTUAL IRREGULAR CONDITION AFFECTING ACFT.
