Narrative:
Manufacturers part number X (blax X) put on blax X shop order. The master date records blax X and blax X listing the manufacturers part numbers are correct. I have no control over computer programming. Our parts company computer system will allow a floor mechanic to enter a manufacturer part number that is not listed on the master data record. The information technology group has the responsibility of the parts company system programming. When I attended the shop meeting; the master data record was correct. There was no need to make any changes at the time. (Name) ran the meeting. He was to advise if any corrective action would be needed. The manufacturer part number X was put on a 'C' engine. It was after service put on an XXX shop order to go through the repair process. It should have been issued on an xxy shop order. The manufacturer part number X was incorrectly labeled with wrong information such as company part number and -001 added.
