Narrative:

On the night of feb/xa/06 I rode brakes while taxiing aircraft to hangar. Once I arrived at hangar; I got out installed gear pins and then proceeded to put aircraft in hangar. I then connected grounding strap and armed the fire bottles. I then proceeded inside to make a write-up in the can [folding aluminum folder holding aircraft write-ups and paperwork]. When I got inside; quality assurance was auditing the can; so I was going to make a write-up later. It was getting close to gate time. During this time period other mechanics pulled it out of the hangar and took it to the other side because quality assurance worked it while in the hanger and the last thing that needed signed off was the thrust reverser. I finished formatting the e-mail and proceeded to go home. The plane took off got a gear disagreement message and returned to field.
