Narrative:
Aaip being written by an avionics inspector and the wording in the aaip of 'or equivalent.' I performed their 12 month avionics inspection by complying with the direction in the inspection by verifying proper movement of the needles and DME due to not being aware of what a 104-a is I may have not been using an equivalent device and by not knowing what the device I used and proper model number I am unable to verify the equivalent. The aaip does state what the outcome of the test should be and I did receive the proper results; but now looking back and not having an avionics backgnd and not knowing the model number of equipment used; even though I did receive satisfactory results; it may not have complied with aaip in the eyes of the fisd.

Narrative: AAIP BEING WRITTEN BY AN AVIONICS INSPECTOR AND THE WORDING IN THE AAIP OF 'OR EQUIVALENT.' I PERFORMED THEIR 12 MONTH AVIONICS INSPECTION BY COMPLYING WITH THE DIRECTION IN THE INSPECTION BY VERIFYING PROPER MOVEMENT OF THE NEEDLES AND DME DUE TO NOT BEING AWARE OF WHAT A 104-A IS I MAY HAVE NOT BEEN USING AN EQUIVALENT DEVICE AND BY NOT KNOWING WHAT THE DEVICE I USED AND PROPER MODEL NUMBER I AM UNABLE TO VERIFY THE EQUIVALENT. THE AAIP DOES STATE WHAT THE OUTCOME OF THE TEST SHOULD BE AND I DID RECEIVE THE PROPER RESULTS; BUT NOW LOOKING BACK AND NOT HAVING AN AVIONICS BACKGND AND NOT KNOWING THE MODEL NUMBER OF EQUIP USED; EVEN THOUGH I DID RECEIVE SATISFACTORY RESULTS; IT MAY NOT HAVE COMPLIED WITH AAIP IN THE EYES OF THE FISD.
