Narrative:
During approach at ZZZ; at about 3000 ft; flight attendants called cockpit and reported fumes in cabin; a sulfur smell like matches. A slight similar smell was in the cockpit. We had just lowered the gear and we were cleared visual approach runway 18L. We declared an emergency and landed. On rollout; flight attendants called to say smell was dissipating. Taxied to gate. Later found rh recirculation fan inoperative; suspected cause of fumes.
