Narrative:
I was the captain and PF. Event: windshear departing runway 31L at psp encountered at 1000 ft AGL and performed escape maneuver. Advanced thrust levers past maximum power for a few seconds and reduced to maximum power when windshear alert disappeared. The egt or N1 light appeared for less than 2 seconds. All engine parameters returned to normal. We notified maintenance via ACARS out of 10000 ft and they told us to monitor engine displays for any abnormal readings. Consideration was discussed if we should land at the nearest suitable airport; but we could not find any guidance in the QRH; limitations section of the B737 manual; windshear section of flight handbook or after notifying dispatch/maintenance via ACARS. Simulator training over many yrs never addressed this situation after windshear training.

Title: FLT CREW OF B737 MOMENTARILY OVER-BOOST 1 ENG DURING RECOVERY FROM WINDSHEAR AFTER TKOF FROM PSP.
Narrative: I WAS THE CAPT AND PF. EVENT: WINDSHEAR DEPARTING RWY 31L AT PSP ENCOUNTERED AT 1000 FT AGL AND PERFORMED ESCAPE MANEUVER. ADVANCED THRUST LEVERS PAST MAX PWR FOR A FEW SECONDS AND REDUCED TO MAX PWR WHEN WINDSHEAR ALERT DISAPPEARED. THE EGT OR N1 LIGHT APPEARED FOR LESS THAN 2 SECONDS. ALL ENG PARAMETERS RETURNED TO NORMAL. WE NOTIFIED MAINT VIA ACARS OUT OF 10000 FT AND THEY TOLD US TO MONITOR ENG DISPLAYS FOR ANY ABNORMAL READINGS. CONSIDERATION WAS DISCUSSED IF WE SHOULD LAND AT THE NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT; BUT WE COULD NOT FIND ANY GUIDANCE IN THE QRH; LIMITATIONS SECTION OF THE B737 MANUAL; WINDSHEAR SECTION OF FLT HANDBOOK OR AFTER NOTIFYING DISPATCH/MAINT VIA ACARS. SIMULATOR TRAINING OVER MANY YRS NEVER ADDRESSED THIS SITUATION AFTER WINDSHEAR TRAINING.
