Narrative:
On may/xa/06; I was informed by another mechanic that I had forgotten to install the bulkhead union nut on the #1 float switch tsd of air carrier X. I corrected the problem before the aircraft was returned to service and documented the work performed. It was then that I was concerned that I might have made the same mistake on other aircraft on which I had accomplished the same modification; but was unable to recall the particular aircraft tail numbers.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737-300 FUEL TANK FLOAT SWITCH HAD A UNION NUT OMITTED DURING INSTALLATION. TECHNICIAN CORRECTED THE ERROR. TECHNICIAN BELIEVES PREVIOUS ACFT WORKED MAY HAVE THE SAME ERROR.
Narrative: ON MAY/XA/06; I WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER MECH THAT I HAD FORGOTTEN TO INSTALL THE BULKHEAD UNION NUT ON THE #1 FLOAT SWITCH TSD OF ACR X. I CORRECTED THE PROB BEFORE THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC AND DOCUMENTED THE WORK PERFORMED. IT WAS THEN THAT I WAS CONCERNED THAT I MIGHT HAVE MADE THE SAME MISTAKE ON OTHER ACFT ON WHICH I HAD ACCOMPLISHED THE SAME MODIFICATION; BUT WAS UNABLE TO RECALL THE PARTICULAR ACFT TAIL NUMBERS.
