Narrative:
I was flying my mooney M-20C and had to make a gear up landing at ZZZ because of gear problems. During the investigation; it came to my knowledge that several airworthiness directives had not been complied with. I believed my mechanics when they said that all airworthiness directives were complied with and in error flew the airplane out of compliance. My current mechanic for the last 10 yrs has kept the airplane in compliance with all airworthiness directives. Keeping up-to-date with all airworthiness directives when you own your aircraft would have prevented this error.
