Narrative:
I did not file a VFR flight plan and did not get NOTAMS from FSS. I utilized flight following with norcal approach; 127.4; 123.85. I was dismissed to VFR when I stated descending for oakdale. I was busy checking the windsock on a mid field entry. It was dusk; I had a ride waiting for me. My wife had to use the bathroom badly. My little dog was having anxiety on approach. I was trying to figure out why the runway landing lights did not come on and checked the radio frequency. I landed a bit long and did not see the 'X.' when I taxied off and saw orange barricades; I realized the airport must be closed and was already landed. I tied down and found a note to check with the airport manager. I am not sure if he will take action. No harm or damage was done. A light up 'X' would have got my attention. I only file a flight plan if I am IFR since I usually use flight following.
