Narrative:
At cruise with the APU generator inoperative the left engine generator failed. Airline policy is to land at the nearest suitable airport. Dispatch was advised and a landing at ZZZ1 agreed on. WX was clear and a normal descent and landing was made. Arff equipment was standing by and a smooth landing was made at 208000 pounds.
