Narrative:
The aircraft was in the process of being annualed and the a&P suggested I perform a high speed taxi to ensure engine RPM's reached maximum limit. He had completed carburetor work. I taxied the aircraft to runway 27 at linden price's airport; reported my intentions and accelerated to approximately 3900 RPM's. As the tail began to raise; I throttled back; returned to the beginning; announced my intentions and began a 2ND taxi. Upon reaching 4500 RPM's; the aircraft veered right of centerline. The correction back to centerline was too severe and the right strut collapsed causing the aircraft to dig the right wingtip into the grass on the south side of the runway. I had no intentions of having the aircraft leave the ground. I should have just chocked the tires and performed the run-up to maximum power that way.

Title: KITFOX MODEL 2 PLT HAS A RWY EXCURSION AT 9G2.
Narrative: THE ACFT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING ANNUALED AND THE A&P SUGGESTED I PERFORM A HIGH SPD TAXI TO ENSURE ENG RPM'S REACHED MAX LIMIT. HE HAD COMPLETED CARB WORK. I TAXIED THE ACFT TO RWY 27 AT LINDEN PRICE'S ARPT; RPTED MY INTENTIONS AND ACCELERATED TO APPROX 3900 RPM'S. AS THE TAIL BEGAN TO RAISE; I THROTTLED BACK; RETURNED TO THE BEGINNING; ANNOUNCED MY INTENTIONS AND BEGAN A 2ND TAXI. UPON REACHING 4500 RPM'S; THE ACFT VEERED R OF CTRLINE. THE CORRECTION BACK TO CTRLINE WAS TOO SEVERE AND THE R STRUT COLLAPSED CAUSING THE ACFT TO DIG THE R WINGTIP INTO THE GRASS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE RWY. I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF HAVING THE ACFT LEAVE THE GND. I SHOULD HAVE JUST CHOCKED THE TIRES AND PERFORMED THE RUN-UP TO MAX PWR THAT WAY.
