Narrative:
Noted that ETOPS #1 and gpm 7-01 has been changed to require mechanics to use direct reading tire pressure gauge instead of landing gear synoptic display for checking tire pressure. Mechanic compared gauge readings with synoptic and noted that synoptic was in error greater than 10 psi compared to gauge reading. If synoptic tire pressure readings are unreliable they should not be available on EICAS. Contacted company to address this problem.

Narrative: NOTED THAT ETOPS #1 AND GPM 7-01 HAS BEEN CHANGED TO REQUIRE MECHS TO USE DIRECT READING TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE INSTEAD OF LNDG GEAR SYNOPTIC DISPLAY FOR CHKING TIRE PRESSURE. MECH COMPARED GAUGE READINGS WITH SYNOPTIC AND NOTED THAT SYNOPTIC WAS IN ERROR GREATER THAN 10 PSI COMPARED TO GAUGE READING. IF SYNOPTIC TIRE PRESSURE READINGS ARE UNRELIABLE THEY SHOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE ON EICAS. CONTACTED COMPANY TO ADDRESS THIS PROB.
