Narrative:
On may/xa/06 I was assigned to a repair on air carrier X. My lead instructed me to perform a repair per srm 53-00-01 repair #1. It was brought to my attention that one of the flag notes in the srm made this repair not applicable to the area. I made a mistake and missed this flag note; I'm very sorry for what happened and I will not let this happen again. Review of installed repair idented distance between new repair and prior repairs did not meet srm limits. Engineering evaluation determined repairs were acceptable and obtained a time limited repair approval.
