Narrative:
The aircraft came out of maintenance without the right alternate main gear safe sensor connected. The preflight procedures directed by the flight handbook do not direct the crew to perform the preflight in a manner that would detect such a situation. The preflight procedures in the flight handbook need to be changed to address this situation by directing the crew to look for 5 green down and locked lights instead of just the 3 illustrated in the flight handbook. In the meantime I am adding this to my flow to prevent such an occurrence.

Narrative: THE ACFT CAME OUT OF MAINT WITHOUT THE R ALTERNATE MAIN GEAR SAFE SENSOR CONNECTED. THE PREFLT PROCS DIRECTED BY THE FLT HANDBOOK DO NOT DIRECT THE CREW TO PERFORM THE PREFLT IN A MANNER THAT WOULD DETECT SUCH A SITUATION. THE PREFLT PROCS IN THE FLT HANDBOOK NEED TO BE CHANGED TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION BY DIRECTING THE CREW TO LOOK FOR 5 GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED LIGHTS INSTEAD OF JUST THE 3 ILLUSTRATED IN THE FLT HANDBOOK. IN THE MEANTIME I AM ADDING THIS TO MY FLOW TO PREVENT SUCH AN OCCURRENCE.
