Narrative:
Reset circuit breakers for lgciu (landing gear control indicator unit) #1 fault at direction of maintenance control. While on ground in ZZZ; after takeoff fault reappeared. The possibility existed that when lowering gear at destination that we might not have an indication as confirming down and locked. Prepared cabin for emergency landing and declared an emergency. Indications came on 'normal' followed by an uneventful landing.

Title: A321 FLT CREW HAS UNSAFE GEAR INDICATIONS; BUT LANDS WITHOUT INCIDENT.
Narrative: RESET CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR LGCIU (LNDG GEAR CTL INDICATOR UNIT) #1 FAULT AT DIRECTION OF MAINT CTL. WHILE ON GND IN ZZZ; AFTER TKOF FAULT REAPPEARED. THE POSSIBILITY EXISTED THAT WHEN LOWERING GEAR AT DEST THAT WE MIGHT NOT HAVE AN INDICATION AS CONFIRMING DOWN AND LOCKED. PREPARED CABIN FOR EMER LNDG AND DECLARED AN EMER. INDICATIONS CAME ON 'NORMAL' FOLLOWED BY AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG.
