Narrative:
Aircraft doors and chaffed strip on a flap fairing. The concerns of the 'ok for service' was not properly done. Did not have the information as to the wear limits. The other is that the 'ok for service' need to be concurred by a quality control representative; not a vendor quality control inspector.

Title: A CONTRACT MAINT QUALITY CTL SUPVR RPTS AN MD80 DOOR WRITE-UP AND FLAP FAIRING CHAFF STRIP WAS SIGNED OFF AS OK FOR SVC BY A CONTRACT MAINT INSPECTOR.
Narrative: ACFT DOORS AND CHAFFED STRIP ON A FLAP FAIRING. THE CONCERNS OF THE 'OK FOR SVC' WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE. DID NOT HAVE THE INFO AS TO THE WEAR LIMITS. THE OTHER IS THAT THE 'OK FOR SVC' NEED TO BE CONCURRED BY A QUALITY CTL REPRESENTATIVE; NOT A VENDOR QUALITY CTL INSPECTOR.
