Narrative:

Taxied from gate to xx pad to await edct. Flight attendants incessantly were chiming cockpit; even when restarting engines in preparation for move to new takeoff runway; 9L. Taxiing at ord is a daunting task with many distrs on a good day. During the course of taxiing; forgot to make the 'prepare for takeoff' PA. However; I did make a PA stating we were #3 for takeoff and would be taking off in 5 mins. When cleared for takeoff; now on runway 4L; the attendant call chime was rung. Apparently; flight attendants did not hear PA; because I was informed later that all '4' were standing for takeoff.
