Narrative:

At dfw we have a waiver that allows departures to depart off both sides of the airport; at the same time; with less than standard separation. Recently working DR2 a heavy jet departed runway 18L and a regional jet departed runway 17R. The regional jet was less than a mi behind and to the left of the heavy. The regional jet was also at a lower altitude. This is a dangerous situation to put the pilot and passenger into; waiver or not.
