Narrative:
During pushback; the tow bar cotter pin came out and the tow bar disconnected from the nosewheel. We set the brakes and rampers were in the process of connecting the tow bar to the nosewheel. We were semi-abeam gate X and Y between taxiway lines G and left. We had numerous people around the aircraft such as the wing walkers and tow driver attending to the situation. At this point a regional jet; the first of 2 to taxi in; is coming in on 'G' and not slowing down. This concerned me due to the fact that we were blocking the taxiway with our aircraft; tug and ramp people. They kept coming at us and did not slow at all; taxied off the yellow line into the gate/ramp area to get around us yet still came very close to our aircraft and tug with his left wing all while going at a 'pretty good' taxi speed. He showed total disregard for the safety of our ground personnel. They continually speed by our rampers; who are sometimes very inexperienced. Someone is going to hurt or worse.
