Narrative:
Smoke rising from between glare shield and windshield. Declared emergency. Proceeded with emergency descent. Shut off windshield heat; AC; radar; GPS; RNAV; DME and #2 communication. Leveled off at 13000 ft MSL for traffic. Smoke stopped and cockpit cleared of all odors. Re-filed flight plan and climbed to FL210; proceeded without further complications. Aircraft inspected; found loose connector on windshield heat lead.
