Narrative:
I was the PNF on the VOR runway 13L into jfk. We had briefed the approach and run checklists prior to initiating the approach; but as we passed dmyhl on the approach I called the first set of ldin lights as we approached them. The captain said he thought that they were for runway 13R as he flew past them. I said they were for runway 13L; but by now we were past them. I then picked up the second set of ldin lights as the captain started his turn toward the runway. We did have a course that was in the FMGC for the approach; which he followed all the way in. While nothing was said about our approach; we were a little outside the ldin lights. This happened for two reasons. One; the database course was incorrect. And second; the captain did not believe me until landing that the first set of ldin lights were for runway 13L. This was the first time I have ever flown this approach so next time I will know for sure. And next time I will try to be a little more assertive.
