Narrative:
Taxied out from gate. ATC issued a 'wheels up' time of XA22. Ground had us taxi around the terminal to what he called the 'brick wall.' we taxied via taxiway a nebound (we weren't given specific instructions). I used the recognition/taxi lights and the nose light; but the taxiway markings were still difficult to see. There had been previous moderate rain showers; but the windshield was clear. Considering the events last month; the airport authority/authorized should make sure all the surface markings are clearly visible; especially during periods of low light and diminished visibility. Also; I would prefer that ground control use more standard phraseology when directing us to a specific point on the airport. Possibly name that parking spot on the ramp (ie; spot number or spot letter).
