Narrative:

Prior to beginning our takeoff roll; we asked ATC about the speed; direction; and intensity of an area of precipitation west of the field. ATC said there was moderate rain in the departure corridor; and the final wind check before thrust application was 180 degrees at 12 KTS gusting 24 KTS. Continuous ignition and normal thrust were used. However; nearing 100 KTS we could feel the wind shift from the south to the west and airspeed stagnation occurred. The takeoff was aborted; the QRH procedure was completed; and maintenance inspected the aircraft. The aircraft was returned to service; and we continued to cvg.

Title: A CRJ200 PLT RPTS REJECTING A TKOF BECAUSE OF A WIND SHIFT AND AIRSPD STAGNATION WITH WX IN THE VICINITY.

Narrative: PRIOR TO BEGINNING OUR TKOF ROLL; WE ASKED ATC ABOUT THE SPD; DIRECTION; AND INTENSITY OF AN AREA OF PRECIPITATION W OF THE FIELD. ATC SAID THERE WAS MODERATE RAIN IN THE DEP CORRIDOR; AND THE FINAL WIND CHK BEFORE THRUST APPLICATION WAS 180 DEGS AT 12 KTS GUSTING 24 KTS. CONTINUOUS IGNITION AND NORMAL THRUST WERE USED. HOWEVER; NEARING 100 KTS WE COULD FEEL THE WIND SHIFT FROM THE S TO THE W AND AIRSPD STAGNATION OCCURRED. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED; THE QRH PROC WAS COMPLETED; AND MAINT INSPECTED THE ACFT. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC; AND WE CONTINUED TO CVG.
