Narrative:
Position approximately 30 NM on 220 degree radial wea; 5500 ft MSL; as 95 KTS; gusts 132 KTS. Aircraft BE23. Other aircraft C172 or C182 or other high wing single engine. Operating on flight itinerary squawk VFR; bwd to wea; altimeter setting from sep AWOS. WX VMC winds southwest; ceiling 15000 ft; visibility 15 SM. Track 040; other aircraft 150-180. Both aircraft level flight. First sighting 2.5 mi plus separation; closest approximately 500 ft horizontal; 20-30 ft vertical. Approximately time from first sight to evasive action 15 seconds. After observing no indication of action from other aircraft made 20 degree left turn to pass behind converging aircraft.
