Narrative:
On nov/tue at approximately XA16 I was completing the GPS 9 approach into the airport. I had flared and the main gear had touched the ground and began the final landing process. I was traveling approximately 70 mph indicated airspeed at touchdown. I landed on runway 9 at the 1000 ft marker at idle power. Winds were 280 degrees at 4 KTS less than 1 min before touchdown and the runway heading was 089 magnetic. The runway was 4500 ft long approximately. Normal touchdown and landing distance with a calm wind is less than 1500 with minimal braking. Upon the nose touching down; I felt a chatter in the rudder pedals; as if the nose gear was moving from side to side or castering. Immediately the aircraft began pulling to the left. By this time I was down to approximately 50-55 mph and tried at first to pull the nose off; but without power I was unable to do so. I considered a go around and saw a 100 ft high dike less than 300 yards in front of me and immediately abandoned that idea. I pushed hard on the right rudder and then hard on the brakes. There was no response to the rudder pedal and the aircraft continued to go left until it got almost sideways. It then exited the runway; collapsing the nose gear; causing extensive propeller damage and damage to the left main landing gear. There was no fire; and there were no injuries.

Title: A BELLANCA VIKING'S NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON LNDG FOLLOWING A NOSE GEAR CHATTER. THE ACFT UNCTLABLY DEPARTED THE RWY CAUSING PROP DAMAGE.
Narrative: ON NOV/TUE AT APPROX XA16 I WAS COMPLETING THE GPS 9 APCH INTO THE ARPT. I HAD FLARED AND THE MAIN GEAR HAD TOUCHED THE GND AND BEGAN THE FINAL LNDG PROCESS. I WAS TRAVELING APPROX 70 MPH INDICATED AIRSPD AT TOUCHDOWN. I LANDED ON RWY 9 AT THE 1000 FT MARKER AT IDLE PWR. WINDS WERE 280 DEGS AT 4 KTS LESS THAN 1 MIN BEFORE TOUCHDOWN AND THE RWY HDG WAS 089 MAG. THE RWY WAS 4500 FT LONG APPROX. NORMAL TOUCHDOWN AND LNDG DISTANCE WITH A CALM WIND IS LESS THAN 1500 WITH MINIMAL BRAKING.
