Narrative:

On nov/tue/06 at approximately XA00 hours; I met the flight crew of aircraft 123 and was told the aircraft was good; nothing to complain about. Another mechanic and myself performed a check of the aircraft. At approximately XB00 I performed a walkaround inspection of the aircraft utilizing a fully charged 18 volt flood/spot type flashlight. At that time no aircraft damage from man or nature existed. My lead and foreman informed me of an aircraft damaged gate call by the originating flight crew that morning. The aircraft was parked at a gate which has a lot of transient equipment traffic to and from the mechanics and appearance storage areas. Also service/air-ground equipment and baggage carts are stored between the gates in proximity to the damage to APU shroud drain mast and body fairing.
