Narrative:
While flying the kennedy one departure from jfk canarsie climb off runway 31L. I was the PNF in white data. The captain was the PF in green data. We briefed the change in runway and departure procedure while waiting in line for takeoff. We flew the departure as we briefed it. We took off runway 31L and began a left turn at approximately 500 ft AGL and tracked directly to cri VOR (about a 265 degree heading) verified in both white and green data. The captain began a left turn the exact moment he received a 'to' from FLIP from green data (cri VOR) to track outbound on the 176 degree radial. At this time a frequency change was made by myself. I checked in with ny departure while we were in the turn to intercept. I felt the location of our aircraft was exactly on track. When I checked in the controller stated; 'air carrier X; I am glad you missed your turn. Make your heading 090 degrees and I have a phone number for you to call. Advise ready to copy.' I stated that we were already in the turn; but I would copy the number. We continued without incident.
