Narrative:

While talking to approach (houston 120.05 we were on the DASETTA6 arrival on the 'downwind' for runway 8L (ILS). We were completely set up for the approach at 6000 ft MSL when approach told us to expect runway 8R ILS and handed off to approach on 120.65 immediately after. We checked in immediately and were descended and given vectors to intercept. We were rushed as a crew to brief an approach in low IFR conditions and in a hurry -- we put the ILS runway 8R frequency in the box but never switched over to active. As a result; we aligned with runway 8L and the discrepancy was not caught by ATC and tower till the FAF. We were then cleared to land runway 8L. No loss of separation or evasive action was necessary.
