Narrative:
Departing lga for chs via lga 9 departure coney climb. Prior takeoff clearance; after line up; tower communications were broken. Tower had just cleared us off 13 non-standard departure; runway heading to 5000 ft. We heard runway heading cleared to takeoff; 5000 ft. Thinking we were cleared to 5000 ft; tower corrected us upon readback and the instrument departure was flown as published. However; we were in dg mode and then expected a vector to cri as we thought. So we departed white data with the cri 223 inbound intercept. During climb and prior to intercept; we got a comp mon message and a shift (dr). We were going green data when center/departure said we were slipping left of course; please correct. We complied. No mention to us otherwise. A lot of things came at once and a strange departure clearance which was corrected; but we responded well.

Narrative: DEPARTING LGA FOR CHS VIA LGA 9 DEP CONEY CLB. PRIOR TKOF CLRNC; AFTER LINE UP; TWR COMMUNICATIONS WERE BROKEN. TWR HAD JUST CLRED US OFF 13 NON-STANDARD DEP; RWY HDG TO 5000 FT. WE HEARD RWY HDG CLRED TO TKOF; 5000 FT. THINKING WE WERE CLEARED TO 5000 FT; TOWER CORRECTED US UPON READBACK AND THE INSTRUMENT DEP WAS FLOWN AS PUBLISHED. HOWEVER; WE WERE IN DG MODE AND THEN EXPECTED A VECTOR TO CRI AS WE THOUGHT. SO WE DEPARTED WHITE DATA WITH THE CRI 223 INBOUND INTERCEPT. DURING CLB AND PRIOR TO INTERCEPT; WE GOT A COMP MON MSG AND A SHIFT (DR). WE WERE GOING GREEN DATA WHEN CTR/DEP SAID WE WERE SLIPPING L OF COURSE; PLEASE CORRECT. WE COMPLIED.
