Narrative:

ATIS at mdw stated ILS to runway 13C with circle to land runway 22L was the approach being used. Winds were out of the south 17 KTS. Approach control stated aircraft were breaking out at 2100 ft to circle. Asked where I was parking on the field; I stated atlantic aviation; which is an easy left turn off of runway 22L. I broke out at 2000 ft and was asked if I had traffic in sight to which I responded yes and was cleared to land #2. I landed on runway 22L and immediately after touchdown was told by the tower I was cleared to land on runway 22R not runway 22L. I felt terrible and called the tower. The manager said the tower saw me roll out from base leg to runway 22L final and didn't say anything because it did not disrupt their flow. He said I was cleared to land on runway 22R. I think the issue here was that I had runway 22L burned into my mind because of ATIS; asking me where I was parking (runway 22L is closest to atlantic aviation); the clearance to land #2 behind the boeing. Also; was I reading back cleared to land runway 22R? Or runway 22L and not corrected by the controller? I don't know because I had it solidly in my mind I was landing runway 22L.

Title: FOLLOWING A CIRCLING APCH FROM THE ILS RWY 13C BE35 PLT LANDS ON RWY 22L VICE RWY 22R AS CLRED BY MDW TWR.

Narrative: ATIS AT MDW STATED ILS TO RWY 13C WITH CIRCLE TO LAND RWY 22L WAS THE APCH BEING USED. WINDS WERE OUT OF THE S 17 KTS. APCH CTL STATED ACFT WERE BREAKING OUT AT 2100 FT TO CIRCLE. ASKED WHERE I WAS PARKING ON THE FIELD; I STATED ATLANTIC AVIATION; WHICH IS AN EASY L TURN OFF OF RWY 22L. I BROKE OUT AT 2000 FT AND WAS ASKED IF I HAD TFC IN SIGHT TO WHICH I RESPONDED YES AND WAS CLRED TO LAND #2. I LANDED ON RWY 22L AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER TOUCHDOWN WAS TOLD BY THE TWR I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 22R NOT RWY 22L. I FELT TERRIBLE AND CALLED THE TWR. THE MGR SAID THE TWR SAW ME ROLL OUT FROM BASE LEG TO RWY 22L FINAL AND DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE IT DID NOT DISRUPT THEIR FLOW. HE SAID I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 22R. I THINK THE ISSUE HERE WAS THAT I HAD RWY 22L BURNED INTO MY MIND BECAUSE OF ATIS; ASKING ME WHERE I WAS PARKING (RWY 22L IS CLOSEST TO ATLANTIC AVIATION); THE CLRNC TO LAND #2 BEHIND THE BOEING. ALSO; WAS I READING BACK CLRED TO LAND RWY 22R? OR RWY 22L AND NOT CORRECTED BY THE CTLR? I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I HAD IT SOLIDLY IN MY MIND I WAS LNDG RWY 22L.
