Narrative:
It was announced that our engine pubs provider would no longer provide the manuals and service information for the aircraft's rolls-royce engines. Upper level management of the company is balking at buying the manuals directly from rolls royce due to their much higher cost. The aircraft has been operating without revision service to the required engine manuals since mid november despite repeated protests from the director of maintenance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the engine manuals and revision service ran out in september of 06 and they operated with no current engine manual revisions. The FAA subscribed to the same service and is aware the manuals are out of time and not published. The only source for these manuals and revision services is the manufacturer; rolls-royce; but the price is 5 times what they were paying. The reporter gave upper management notice of resigning within 14 days fearing the loss of license if the FAA had a paperwork audit. At the very last day upper management purchased the manual and revision services from rolls-royce.
