Narrative:
While on approach to runway 7R; we experienced a split flap indication; trailing edge flaps stuck at 2 degrees right to 5 degrees left. We requested runway 8 from ATC; they denied the request; we declared an emergency in order to get the longer runway; we were taken out of the approach sequence and given a downwind heading/radar vectors for a visual approach to runway 8; we ran the QRH checklist. Then landed without further incident. After landing; we parked the airplane as instructed at the hangar for repairs to be made.
