Narrative:
Aircraft landed on runway 28 on a clear but dark night. I instructed pilot to 'turn right on taxiway A4; right on taxiway a; taxi to the ramp.' the pilot made the two right turns; but then turned left onto taxiway C (a non-movement area) which is the entrance to the general aviation ramp/FBO parking. This is about 1000 ft short of the entrance to the air carrier ramp and required the aircraft to make a 180 degree turn to re-enter alpha taxiway. This is not the first time I have seen this happen.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated he has seen two aircraft this month turn into the non-movement area on taxiway C. He is not aware of any other controllers observing the problem. He feels airport signs could be improved.

Title: ACR FLT CREW TAXIING TO THE GATE AT NIGHT AT MGM MISTAKENLY TURNED INTO A NON-MOVEMENT AREA.
Narrative: ACFT LANDED ON RWY 28 ON A CLEAR BUT DARK NIGHT. I INSTRUCTED PILOT TO 'TURN RIGHT ON TXWY A4; RIGHT ON TXWY A; TAXI TO THE RAMP.' THE PILOT MADE THE TWO RIGHT TURNS; BUT THEN TURNED LEFT ONTO TAXIWAY C (A NON-MOVEMENT AREA) WHICH IS THE ENTRANCE TO THE GENERAL AVIATION RAMP/FBO PARKING. THIS IS ABOUT 1000 FT SHORT OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE AIR CARRIER RAMP AND REQUIRED THE ACFT TO MAKE A 180 DEG TURN TO RE-ENTER ALPHA TXWY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED HE HAS SEEN TWO ACFT THIS MONTH TURN INTO THE NON-MOVEMENT AREA ON TXWY C. HE IS NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER CTLRS OBSERVING THE PROB. HE FEELS ARPT SIGNS COULD BE IMPROVED.
