Narrative:

I received a new part into system per gmm and supplied metal tag #XXX. The unserialized part (1/4 inch nut) is too small to attach the metal tag identing its assigned serial number. Note: part (1/4 inch nut) is a life limited part. I tagged these parts (3 each) feb/fri/07. Upon my return to work tuesday and talking with my co-workers; I realized that once the nut is installed there is no way to identify this life limited assigned serial number on the aircraft because the metal is not on the part.
