Narrative:
On final for runway 17L ILS at roughly 1600 ft RA the 'flight guidance cue' disappeared on the HUD. Xchking down on the pfd steering bar seems slightly left of course; started to decrease rate of descent and asked first officer what he changed. First officer replied nothing. Still no flight guidance cue; noticed no GS on pfd. Initiated go around procedure. First officer mentioned I need to come left; made slight correction left to re-center steering bar. First officer re-stated I needed to come further left; made more of a correction to left. On third comment from first officer thinking I may have false indications from steering bar; xferred control of aircraft to first officer during climb out. On climb out and turning crosswind CDI steering bar was still frozen slightly left of center and would not reset until changing frequency and turning off flight director. First officer commented he did not have any indication on the HUD annunciator panel.
