Narrative:
Arrival into ord. Initially cleared for and briefed ILS runway 9R. Given a 180 degree heading for intercept. About 5 miles from localizer given runway 9L for landing. Reset FMC and I thought both radios. Given a turn to 130 degrees for the intercept. I was in map; first officer in expanded. As we approached the course the localizer did not capture. I began a turn to intercept and went thru the course by about 1 to 2 dots. In the turn; ATC asked if we were capturing. We said yes and were turning back on an intercept heading. At one DOT to the right; ATC directed 040 degree heading we did that and recaptured. They asked us if we saw a metroliner. We had him on TCAS; but not visual. No TA or RA. They then cancelled our approach clearance; told us to turn to 040 degrees and climb to 4000 ft. Brought back around for another approach. The problem on the first pass was that the captain's radio was still set to runway 9R and the first officer's radio was set to runway 9L. Hence no capture on the captain's side. Second try was successful and uneventful.

Title: B737 CREW GETS LATE RWY CHANGE AT ORD AND DOES NOT RETUNE BOTH ILS RECEIVERS; RESULTING IN AN OVERSHOOT AND GAR.
Narrative: ARR INTO ORD. INITIALLY CLRED FOR AND BRIEFED ILS RWY 9R. GIVEN A 180 DEG HEADING FOR INTERCEPT. ABOUT 5 MILES FROM LOC GIVEN RWY 9L FOR LNDG. RESET FMC AND I THOUGHT BOTH RADIOS. GIVEN A TURN TO 130 DEGS FOR THE INTERCEPT. I WAS IN MAP; FO IN EXPANDED. AS WE APCHED THE COURSE THE LOC DID NOT CAPTURE. I BEGAN A TURN TO INTERCEPT AND WENT THRU THE COURSE BY ABOUT 1 TO 2 DOTS. IN THE TURN; ATC ASKED IF WE WERE CAPTURING. WE SAID YES AND WERE TURNING BACK ON AN INTERCEPT HEADING. AT ONE DOT TO THE R; ATC DIRECTED 040 DEG HEADING WE DID THAT AND RECAPTURED. THEY ASKED US IF WE SAW A METROLINER. WE HAD HIM ON TCAS; BUT NOT VISUAL. NO TA OR RA. THEY THEN CANCELLED OUR APCH CLRNC; TOLD US TO TURN TO 040 DEGS AND CLB TO 4000 FT. BROUGHT BACK AROUND FOR ANOTHER APCH. THE PROB ON THE FIRST PASS WAS THAT THE CAPT'S RADIO WAS STILL SET TO RWY 9R AND THE FO'S RADIO WAS SET TO RWY 9L. HENCE NO CAPTURE ON THE CAPT'S SIDE. SECOND TRY WAS SUCCESSFUL AND UNEVENTFUL.
