Narrative:

First takeoff was rejected due to a bad engine indication (left engine) prior to 80 KTS. After returning to blocks; maintenance spent several hours performing checks on left engine. Deemed good; we departed for a second time. On second takeoff roll; same bad engine indication (N1 overspeed) returned after 80 KTS. Deemed safe to continue takeoff; additional bad engine indications occurred after liftoff (excessive egt). Now decision was made to return to airport. Engine was running fine at slightly reduced power setting; no emergency declared and flight around traffic pattern was uneventful.
