Narrative:
It is possible it was looking at our descent rate. However; I was descending at 1500 FPM before it started to level off. We were IMC so I could not determine if there was terrain visually. That is why I turned the autoplt off and climbed. We were on final vectors for the ILS into alb. We were given a descent clearance to 2500 ft. As we passed through 2700 ft and starting to level off we were given the GPWS warning to pull up. I disconnected the autoplt and climbed as per the SOP. The captain told ATC that we were leveling off at 3000 ft. We continued without further incident. GPWS warning. Pull up! We climbed. I guess monitor the descent rate. However; we were only doing 1500 FPM. There was no terrain.
