Narrative:
During climb; the right primary and standby EPR indications failed; followed by failure of the autothrottles. After contacting maintenance; I decided with their concurrence to return to ZZZ. As a precaution; I declared an emergency. We descended; burned fuel to below maximum landing weight and flew a normal approach and touchdown. After clearing the runway crash fire rescue equipment checked for hot brakes and followed the aircraft to the gate.
