Narrative:
I pushed off gate in san salvador. Normal push. Stopped push and set brakes as directed. Replied 'brakes set; pressure normal.' started both engines as directed. Tug pulled away. 2 mins later I was shown the bypass pin and got a wave with his wand. I waited until #2 engine was started; 2 more mins. I stated; 'I have a salute and release from guidance taxi clearance.' we got clearance and started to taxi. Their man was still plugged in. I stopped; he unplugged; and I told him that I was shown the pin with a salute. I recommend that the man on the headset unplugs when the pin and towbar are removed; as it is done domestically. The man on the headset talked to the pin puller and I think it will not happen again. If this practice does continue someone could get killed. Supplemental information from acn 737610: I got taxi clearance and captain started to advance power; at which point I heard a voice say; 'ground to cockpit' over the flight interphone I yelled; 'stop; stop; stop.'

Narrative: I PUSHED OFF GATE IN SAN SALVADOR. NORMAL PUSH. STOPPED PUSH AND SET BRAKES AS DIRECTED. REPLIED 'BRAKES SET; PRESSURE NORMAL.' STARTED BOTH ENGS AS DIRECTED. TUG PULLED AWAY. 2 MINS LATER I WAS SHOWN THE BYPASS PIN AND GOT A WAVE WITH HIS WAND. I WAITED UNTIL #2 ENG WAS STARTED; 2 MORE MINS. I STATED; 'I HAVE A SALUTE AND RELEASE FROM GUIDANCE TAXI CLRNC.' WE GOT CLRNC AND STARTED TO TAXI. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 737610: I GOT TAXI CLRNC AND CAPT STARTED TO ADVANCE PWR; AT WHICH POINT I HEARD A VOICE SAY; 'GND TO COCKPIT' OVER THE FLT INTERPHONE I YELLED; 'STOP; STOP; STOP.'
