Narrative:
While doing an engine run for system checks we were asked to advance the power to check for a takeoff confign light. The next day while checking with the FBO about our departure the next day; the manager informed us that we had almost blown a car off the road and blew over a potted tree; breaking the pot. It was across the road. After further review of the situation we should have asked to be repositioned to do the engine run up.
