Narrative:

The flight attendants notified me that a man in the back was having heart problems. A doctor assisted them in helping the passenger. A few mins later; the flight attendants said the man was having further problems; but didn't know the details. My first officer; with help from the jump seater; pulled up the WX in the area. A min later; the flight attendants told me he was having a heart attack and the doctor recommended we land immediately. I was near the ZZZ area. I gave the airplane to the first officer and communicated to dispatch. He recommended we land in ZZZ due to the buildups in YYY. We declared an emergency and descended into ZZZ. We were overweight at 148800 pounds and the first officer did an excellent job pulling up the go around performance. We had the performance and continued to land. We followed the overweight landing checklist. We landed and proceeded to the company's gates where paramedics were waiting. By the time we arrived at the gate; the brake temperatures were almost 700 degrees. The ground people chocked the aircraft and I released the brakes to cool them. With the outside temperature cooling with the front moving through; they began to cool. We also contacted maintenance and dispatch on the ground and received a new flight plan and mrd for the overweight landing.
