Narrative:
We were on radar vector departing teb airport. ATC directed us to intercept the colts neck 350 degree radial. I discovered that colts neck VOR was not on our flight plan and not listed on the FMS flight plan. We were using a universal uns 1D FMS. I inputted in cyn VOR which was in the flight plan not knowing that this was not colts neck. After ATC gave us a new heading; I discovered the error. I then asked ATC the identify for colts neck VOR and corrected the mistake. We use electronic flight bags which do not lend themselves to easily view area charts for VOR identify. Not having a NAVAID on the flight plan in the FMS database makes them difficult to locate without the identify.
