Narrative:
We were given clearance to cross husky at or below 14000 ft. I entered this altitude in the FMS and made sure we were in VNAV. Plane started descent on canuk 4 arrival; we were given runway 9R instead of the runway I thought we would get; which was runway 10. I started briefing runway 9R while descending and looked at our position. It showed we would not make the restr over husky. I told the captain to advise ATC immediately that we would not make it. The captain requested vectors; but ATC didn't want us off course; so we stayed on course and crossed husky 1000 ft high. I'm not sure why the aircraft was high. We did not have a strong tailwind. I was distracted because ATC gave us a runway I did not expect; so this took my concentration off of monitoring the aircraft. Next time I will prevent this problem by briefing all possible apches prior to top of descent!
