Narrative:
Ground interruption: we flew and landed with a battery charger light on. Maintenance action at ZZZ was to change out the battery charger. Taxiing out for the next leg; the battery charger light came on again. We went back to the same gate. Maintenance said our 2 batteries were very hot and should have been changed when the charger was changed out. They were replaced. The rest of the sequence was uneventful.
