Narrative:

Just after leveloff at FL340 crew noticed a smoky/burning odor. This was followed by an aft loop a cargo fault. Captain directed first officer to work ECAM. After 15-20 seconds light extinguished followed shortly with loop a/B lights in aft with red smoke light and loop a/B lights in mid 2 with red smoke light. ECAM came up with smoke procedure; oxygen masks and land as soon as possible. Brought jump seater (airbus crew member) up to the cockpit and directed oxygen mask. ZZZ was nearest field (46 mi) to divert to. Crew declared an emergency. Captain flew and first officer worked ECAM and QRH. Approximately FL190-210 smoke lights were no longer seen. Approach/landing uneventful. Stopped straight ahead runway 10L at ZZZ to let fire department inspect. No indications of external fire and crew egressed airplane on runway via fire department ladders.

Title: A310 FLT CREW DECLARE EMERGENCY AND DIVERT TO NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT WHEN THEY SMELL SMOKE AND GET ECAM MESSAGES CONSISTENT WITH CABIN FIRE WARNINGS.

Narrative: JUST AFTER LEVELOFF AT FL340 CREW NOTICED A SMOKY/BURNING ODOR. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY AN AFT LOOP A CARGO FAULT. CAPT DIRECTED FO TO WORK ECAM. AFTER 15-20 SECONDS LIGHT EXTINGUISHED FOLLOWED SHORTLY WITH LOOP A/B LIGHTS IN AFT WITH RED SMOKE LIGHT AND LOOP A/B LIGHTS IN MID 2 WITH RED SMOKE LIGHT. ECAM CAME UP WITH SMOKE PROC; OXYGEN MASKS AND LAND ASAP. BROUGHT JUMP SEATER (AIRBUS CREW MEMBER) UP TO THE COCKPIT AND DIRECTED OXYGEN MASK. ZZZ WAS NEAREST FIELD (46 MI) TO DIVERT TO. CREW DECLARED AN EMER. CAPT FLEW AND FO WORKED ECAM AND QRH. APPROX FL190-210 SMOKE LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER SEEN. APCH/LNDG UNEVENTFUL. STOPPED STRAIGHT AHEAD RWY 10L AT ZZZ TO LET FIRE DEPT INSPECT. NO INDICATIONS OF EXTERNAL FIRE AND CREW EGRESSED AIRPLANE ON RWY VIA FIRE DEPT LADDERS.
