Narrative:
VFR flight from aty to apa; filed with huron FSS 07/fri/07 at XA00. Standard briefing from huron 07/sat/07 at XM30 CDT and confirmed filed flight plan with 4 hour 20 min en route. Opened flight plan via radio (127.5) with huron at XN00 CDT noting liftoff at XM50 CDT. Flight following with msp and den ctrs at 8500 ft MSL. Touchdown at apa at XR50 mdt for en route time of 4.0 hours (4.2 total hobbs) due to better than forecast winds. Contacted den FSS to close out and advised that we were 'seriously overdue' and that 'search and rescue has been initiated.' this is 3RD problem in 2 weeks with FSS mis-filing and /or dropping a properly filed flight plan.
