Narrative:
Right red gear light remained illuminated after gear handle placed in 'off' position after takeoff. Burned off enough fuel to return to dfw. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that this is his third occurrence with this problem. It is company policy to not recycle the gear; but return to departure airport. An emergency was not declared.

Narrative: R RED GEAR LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER GEAR HANDLE PLACED IN 'OFF' POS AFTER TKOF. BURNED OFF ENOUGH FUEL TO RETURN TO DFW. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THAT THIS IS HIS THIRD OCCURRENCE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS COMPANY POLICY TO NOT RECYCLE THE GEAR; BUT RETURN TO DEP ARPT. AN EMER WAS NOT DECLARED.
