Narrative:
Approximately 3:30 into our 9:34 planned flight time we received a satcom SELCAL from company requesting us to return to ZZZ due a massive failure of the ATC system in brazil. We discussed the issue of a possible planned overweight landing back at ZZZ. We conferred with maintenance about the amount we would be over on landing. Maintenance said no problem. An electronic maintenance entry was made reference overweight landing. During our return to ZZZ we maximized our fuel burn to minimize our overweight condition on landing. The WX and airport conditions were all excellent. We made a smooth uneventful landing.
